A primary focus of the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is to promote good breast health and early detection of breast cancer within our 12-county service areas including Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Clear Creek, Denver, Douglas, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, Park and Summit Counties. Within these counties, we provide breast health education to medically underserved and under-or un-insured women and men.
One of the ways we reach out to the community is by participating in health fairs, speaking engagements, and outreach to the medically underserved. The Denver Affiliate is involved in many community and corporate health fairs through out the year. Along with health fairs, our Speaker’s Bureau participates in speaking engagements to talk to businesses, other non-profit organizations, and other various groups about Komen and breast health information.
To obtain more information on breast health, please visit the Breast Health section of our website.
Also, our education outreach efforts target the different ethnicities and other groups who are at a high risk of getting breast cancer. The two primary components of our outreach program to these groups include the Multicultural Conference and the Young Women’s Program.
